What is JAM English?

How do I start my first session?

Open the dashboard and tap the Today card, or choose any session type in Quick start. You see a few useful phrases and a simple plan, speak, and get your feedback straight away.

Is JAM good for beginners?

Yes. Sessions start short (about 30 seconds) and grow as you improve. You get phrases and hints before and during your answer, can slow the audio down, and can translate any text into your first language.

How long is a session?

It depends on the format. Most sessions are 30 to 60 seconds and adjust to your level. IELTS Part 2 gives you one minute to prepare and up to two minutes to speak. Speed rounds go 30, 20 and 10 seconds. Live chat is free-form.

How does the AI analyse my speech?

Your recording is transcribed with a speech-recognition service, then an AI model reviews the transcript and the speaking data (speaking time, pace, pauses, filler words) and writes your feedback.

What feedback will I see?

First a short summary: what went well and one fix, with a chance to say the fix out loud. The full report adds pace, filler words, vocabulary and grammar notes. For IELTS you also get a band estimate with a tip for each criterion.

Is the IELTS band score official?

No. It is a practice estimate based on the public IELTS speaking descriptors, to help you see what to work on. It is not an official IELTS result.

What is the Phrase Bank?

Your fixes and new phrases are saved automatically and come back as short spoken reviews, spaced out over time, so they move into your everyday English.

Can I get help in my own language?

Yes. Choose your first language in your profile, then tap Translate on phrases, topics, feedback and role-plays to see the meaning in your language. You can also ask how to say something in your language and get the English phrase.

Your recordings belong to your account and are never shown to other users. They are processed by our speech-recognition and AI providers only to create your feedback. You can delete your account and data at any time in Settings.
