Sample answer

about 225 words · 2 minutes

I'd like to tell you about my hometown, which is a medium-sized coastal city situated in the southeastern part of my country, about a two-hour drive from the capital. It's nestled right between a scenic mountain range and the ocean, so the natural backdrop is quite striking. In terms of what kind of place it is, I'd describe it as a vibrant blend of old and new. The central district still has historic brick buildings and narrow cobblestone streets, while the surrounding areas have developed rapidly with modern high-rises and commercial hubs. It has a relaxed, friendly atmosphere compared to the fast-paced life of bigger metropolises. As for the facilities, my hometown is very well-equipped. We have a reliable public transport network with electric buses that make getting around effortless. There are also several state-of-the-art medical centers, well-maintained public parks, and a newly renovated sports complex. For shopping and leisure, residents usually head to the traditional open-air market or the contemporary shopping centers near the waterfront. All in all, I have very positive feelings about my hometown. Even though I've spent time living elsewhere for my studies, I always feel a strong sense of belonging whenever I return. I really appreciate the balance it offers between modern conveniences and a tranquil lifestyle, and I could definitely see myself settling down there permanently in the future.
