Corporate Versus Individual Climate Responsibility

I strongly maintain that the primary responsibility for tackling climate change lies with major corporations rather than individual consumers. While personal efforts like recycling and reducing energy usage are admirable, they represent only a tiny fraction of global greenhouse emissions. A vast majority of global pollution originates from a handful of heavy industrial conglomerates and energy producers that continue to prioritize profit over sustainability. It is unfair to place the moral burden on ordinary citizens while massive industries operate with minimal regulation. Having said that, consumer demand can certainly influence corporate behavior through targeted boycotts and sustainable choices. Ultimately, however, real systemic transformation requires strict government regulations and heavy penalties for corporate polluters. Until regulatory bodies hold industrial giants accountable, individual actions will simply not be enough to prevent severe ecological decline.
